Collaborate with MomentumAI to draft, edit, and polish content in real time.
Canvas is your live editing space – a dedicated window on the right side of your screen where you and MomentumAI can write, refine, and polish content together in real time. It's perfect for drafting texts, emails, reports, code, or any content you want to iterate on without losing track in a long chat.
When to Use It
Use Canvas when you want to create or improve text collaboratively, or when a normal chat starts to feel too long or unstructured. It's great for:
- Writing documents, posts, emails, or summaries
- Editing copy or adjusting tone
- Reviewing and refactoring code
- Finalizing formatted text you'll export or share
How to Open Canvas
There are two ways to start using Canvas:
Ask directly
Simply ask MomentumAI to draft your content on a canvas: "Draft an email to the team about the project update on a canvas" or "Create a canvas with a Python function that sorts a list".
Use the tool button
Click the + button on the left side of the chat input bar to open the tools menu, then select Canvas to start a new canvas.
Working with Canvas
Once your canvas is open, you have full control over the content:
Manual Editing
Click anywhere in the canvas to edit text directly – just like a regular document editor. Make quick fixes, add content, or restructure as needed.
AI-Powered Editing
Select any portion of text and ask MomentumAI to edit just that section:
- "Make this paragraph more concise"
- "Rewrite this in a formal tone"
- "Fix the grammar in this sentence"
- "Translate this section to Dutch"
The AI will modify only the selected content while keeping the rest intact.
Toolbar Options
Use the toolbar at the top of the canvas for quick actions like formatting, undo/redo, and accessing version history to revisit earlier drafts.
Export and Share
When you're happy with your content:
- Copy – Click the copy button to copy all content to your clipboard
- Export – Download your content as a file
- Continue editing – Keep refining with more AI suggestions or manual edits
